The last golf course designed by Old Tom Morris in 1904, this attractive 18-hole layout features numerous tree-lined fairways, smooth putting surfaces, along with a traditional Scottish burn which meanders its way by five holes throughout the course and not to mention enviable views over the Firth of Forth, especially from the 4th and 15th Greens. After a daunting but not too difficult opening hole, where you must drive over a burn, the course opens up with the sixth, seventh and eighth holes branded the course’s ‘Amen Corner’ – where a good round can be made or lost. The par-5 17th is a thrilling hole which makes you really contemplate whether to go for the green in two over the tricky burn from the top of the hill, while the 18th is an exceptional closing par-3 that has danger all around. A straight tee shot is paramount to avoid two bunkers to the left and one huge bunker to the right.
